De Sphinx Delft Polychrome Chinoiserie Vintage Table Lamps – The Omas
Meet the Omas, these one-of-a-kind Delft Polychrome lamps have been lovingly handcrafted from two vintage vases made by De Sphinx (formerly Petrus Regout) in Maastricht, the Netherlands (circa 1920-1949). The shades were handmade by an atelier in Amsterdam in a funky blue green leopard print on ivory linen. Perfect for adding unique charm to a living room or bedroom.
The underglaze decoration was applied by hand by means of transfer print: a method in which a monochrome print of the design on paper—from an engraved copper or steel plate—was transferred on to the vase by pressing it onto the ceramic piece. This process allowed for the production of incredibly detailed items, which would have been impossible to produce by hand-painting.
There are two tiny indentations on the bottom of the vases which are barely visible, see close up images highlighting them.
Height: 64 cm (25.2 in) with shade
Width: 25.5 cm (10 in) with shade
E27 fitting
Price is for the pair.
